Lew Frauenfelder, Storage Industry Executive, Joins Advanced MicroSensors Board of Directors

SHREWSBURY, MA -- July 7, 2003 -- Advanced MicroSensors, Inc. (AMS), a leading supplier of magneto-resistive (MR) tape heads and micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) products, today announced that Lew Frauenfelder has joined the Companys Board of Directors. Mr. Frauenfelder has more than 30 years of experience in the storage and technology industry. Most recently Mr. Frauenfelder was co-founder, CEO and president of Benchmark Storage Innovations, the highly successful Boulder, Colorado Tape and Storage Solutions company that was acquired by Quantum Corporation in 2002. Mr. Frauenfelder was founder, president and chief executive officer of Intellistor, Inc. Subsequent to Intellistor, he was president and chief executive officer of Fujitsu Computer Products of America and Datasonix Corporation.

Mr. Frauenfelders appointment expands the Board of Directors to seven members.
